# AXIS Market \[Trade AXIS on Uniswap — real, on-chain]

The AXIS Market is a **real on-chain swap** against the Uniswap **v4 AXIS/USDC**
pool on Base. Connect your wallet, get a **live quote read straight from the
pool**, and swap real USDC ↔ AXIS. Nothing here is simulated — every trade
settles on Base and moves the real pool price.

## How a swap works

1. **Connect your wallet** — MetaMask or any injected wallet; it switches you to
   Base automatically.
2. **Choose Buy or Sell and an amount** — pay USDC to buy AXIS, or AXIS to sell
   for USDC.
3. **Live quote** — the price comes directly from the Uniswap v4 pool via the
   on-chain quoter, including price impact and the pool fee.
4. **Approve + swap** — the trade routes through Uniswap's Universal Router (with
   Permit2). You sign in your wallet; it settles on-chain and you get a BaseScan
   link.

## Fees and liquidity

* The pool charges a **1% fee** that accrues to **liquidity providers** — the
  people who supply AXIS + USDC depth. There's no separate protocol fee.
* Deeper liquidity = smaller price impact. Anyone can add liquidity to the pool
  on Uniswap to earn that fee.

## Security

* The widget never holds your keys — you sign every transaction in your own
  wallet, and a swap can't move funds without your explicit approval.
* For safety on shared machines, the market **auto-disconnects your wallet after
  15 minutes of inactivity** (and you can disconnect manually anytime). For full
  protection, also set your wallet's own auto-lock timer.
